The Bottom Line:
It is definitely worth buying, it has quality, reliability, durability and a good price when compared to all other car mp3 players.
I searched all around the web, did a little research and finally ended up buying this Kenwood KDC-MPV619 MP3 player at Circuit City. Since I already had pretty good speakers (X-plod in the rear and pioneer in the front)it was real easy to get this unit fixed.
It sounded fair in it with just the four 3 way speakers, but after connecting my sub woofer, WoW! you got to hear it to believe it. It is all in your hands, you gotto tweak the presets (always go for the user preset, factory presets are horrible) a little bit to get the perfect sound.
I would recommend to use a good amp with it, without an amp it is yet another CD player with flat music for the ones who just want to stay awake while diving.
Coming to the pros, it has quite a selection of colors for display (5 presets and one user) You can set it to match your cars interior lighting, but the outer plate just comes in one color (silver) It will looks great on any dash though.
Almost forgot to tell you, the main advantage for going for this player is "IT PLAYS MP3!" what else you want????? You can put 150 songs in a CD and play it for a whole day. Forget about the CD changers, all you need is one CD with 150 of your favorite songs in it.
Considering the security, it has a detachable face plate so you can just take the front display part with you, a security code can be set to ensure anti theft (dont forget the code you set, it may cause you trouble when your car battery dies) it also has a cool red led, which blinks when the face plate it removed. So it resembles an anti theft security system. If your car doesn't have a security system installed, then this can help a bit by pretending as a security system.
Considering the cons like I mentioned earlier, the presets are bad, but the user option is there to rectify it and everything else is real cool. It is definitely worth buying and I would recommend it for sure.
