Overall a great product

Pros 4.5 V pre-outs Great sound plenty of presets (8 each band) Sirius Satellite Ready
Cons Satellite controls 4x6 channel presets instead of 3 sets with 8 channels (like fm bands).
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you can get the 859 for a very close price, do it; otherwise, you'll enjoy the general solidness of this deck's features and quality including satellite radio.
This product provides great sound as well as great set up features. The display is highly customizable except for the noticeably missing ability to view a clock on the Sirius Display and for the lack of ability to choose one of the displayable full-screen graphics for different functions. (You can setup different display options --song title, artist, channel name, channel frequency or number-- for FM/AM, CD, and Satellite controls, but these all fall in the A or B setting choice. Choosing to use display type C results in a full-screen graphic that, while impressive is impractical, lacks the ability to display a clock, and only has two non-equalizer full screen graphics.) Such annoyances are relatively minor and the deck impresses, especially when the faceplate hides when you turn off your car. Only changing the deck --I was using a decent Alpine deck that is 3 years old-- provided better sound quality and volume with identical system components (some of this may be advances in technology over three years, but I'm largely impressed where a stereo counts, sound). Given the same choices, I would still make the same choice. Excellent price and product, controls and features. I imagine some of my complaints would be eliminated by jumping up to the 859, but the increase in price wasn't justifiable by me ( a three color display, mp3s, and more customizable display options didn't quite seem worth the jump --though I'd like to have them). If you combine the value of this deck, a free tuner Sirius deal, and any external amplifiers --and your old deck is older than 3 years-- this deck will be a step up.
