It's pretty cool, but I would save up for a better one

Pros Looks cool,sounds good,Sirius ready,nice price,Nice safety features
Cons Display is a little plain, doesn't display both song title and singer at same time
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I'd save up for the better ones if had the cash
I bought this kenwood head unit because:
1. I wanted satellite radio
2. I wanted something with good safety features
3. I have a double din panel, and I wanted something to take up space.
4. I wanted a head unit with a clear display
5. I wanted cheap add-on features (such as the Sirius tuner, 6 disc changer)
6. I like the red-lit buttons on the gray background (matches my Toyota Matrix interior)

I've had the head unit about a week now in my car. It was very easy to install, and the package came with everything I needed. The build quality seems pretty well made. I was originally using my factory head unit, and had a line out converter going to a Kenwood amp, and pushing 6.5" Infinity kappas. My original head unit was putting out a lot of noise, because I was using a line out converter. The new Kenwood head unit sounds pretty clean. It doesn't seem to have as much bass as my original head unit. I may need to get a sub now. I dont know why... maybe I have a setting wrong.

Hooking up the Sirius tuner was very easy. You just plug in a cord, run the sirius antenna, and you're ready to go. It annoys me that you cannot see both the artist name and the song at the same time. You can only see one at a time.

Getting around the different functions is pretty complicated at first. It becomes intuitive once you get the hang of it, but you have to cycle through a couple of menus before you find what you want. For instance, the same button can change stations, change your display colors, or adjust your fade, but you have to cycle to the right menu first.

The display looks great, but it's a little plain. The higher end Kenwoods have fancy animations. I was worried about glare at first, but there's none to worry about.

The D-Mask feature is pretty cool, but it's obvious that you have a head unit. The head unit bulges out when it is turned off. I'm sure you could make it flush, but you'd have to do some adjustment to the mounting bracket.

Oh yeah, to get out of demo mode, hold down the 5 button for 5 seconds and hit the reset button.
