Got one in the summer of 2005 and it worked great so long as you have an angle to the NW sky from my part of North Carolina. I've had no problems with overheating, but the unit does get warm. I liked it so well, i bought my daughter one from Sirius.com on closeout. If you can find one with the car and/or home cradle, you're golden if you can put the antenna with a clear view to the right part of the sky - depenednt upon where you live.
