Great unit....
Pros
Great screen, excellent DVD quality, good touchscreen, lots of accessories, lots of sound settings.
Cons
no customized graphics. "Z" action still takes room to deploy.
Recommended it?
Yes
Bought the KVT-815 about a month ago in a package that includes the KNA-4100 DVD navigation.
One reason I bought it was because of the Z action, but that doesn't work quite as I had hoped. It still takes a lot of room to deploy the screen.
The sound quality is great. Kenwood makes an almost insane amount of modules you can connect. I have the KCA-IP500 iPod adapter which looks sort of like a CD changer to the unit, so you can use the touch screen to control it.
The screen is very large, and DVD's look great on it.
I wish it had a more customizable interface. You can change the "patterns" on it, but can't load custom graphics like some of the newer models.
The unit plays MP3's, DVD's, CD'd, etc., and handles all of them well. Kenwood recommends professional installation, but it's not that hard to install yourself. I installed the remote box under the passenger seat.
All in all, recommended!
