I was impressed with this unit when it was first released.
It has all the latest technology built in and it's easy to use. I love all the specs on this unit and all the reviews from the magazines and the press.
The remote is simply beautiful and easy to use. The RF remote is so much easier than the regular IR remotes, no more standing in one direction to make the remote work.
I like the looks, they are very appealing to the eye and enhance the complete Kenwood Sovereign Line when added together with the Dv-5900m and the Entre entertainment hub.

Automatic detection of all types of music and video data: mp3,cdr,cdrw,dvd audio,dvd video,THX, dolby digital, 5.1, etc... you get the idea!
The best feature I found was the ability to go into the setup menu and pre-program the memory as to where the speakers are located and how far away they are from the listening area so you get outstanding surround sound reproduction without overkill, just well balanced playback at any level.
