If only the bass were a little better
Pros
Great looks, features and sound
Cons
Weak bass
Recommended it?
Yes
Some systems have the sound, some have the looks and some the features - This one has it all - all except that little extra bass.
At $ 330 this is surely one of the best compact systems that your money can buy.
Lets start with the CD player. The 3 disc changer should satisfy even the most transient of listeners. The disc changer is convenient but makes a little too much noise while shifting from one CD to another. The dual tape deck with push eject is also extremely smooth and convenient.
Coming to the sound. The system has enough and more power for an average sized home. The 3 way speaker system provides a spatial feeling and creates a fair amount of depth. The high frequencies are crystal clear and the best you can get. The mids are quite tight and hold even at high volumes. But where the system disappoints is with its bass. The bass is quite weak and the genuinely low frequencies definitely lack the power and punch that would have made this a complete system. The bass boost is quite limited in its capability to enhance the sub par bass.
The rest of the features are quite standard, the full function remote is a definite bonus.
To summarise this is one system classy system -looks, features and sound. If only the bass was a little better - if only!!
