Gut Pounding

Pros Extremly LOUD!!! Extremly CLEAN!!! Extremly low distortion!!!
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  One of the best subs out there. Up there with the JL W-7's in loudness, but even clearer.
My brother recently purchased two of these subs, which would be mounted in a sealed box. The only way to go with these subs is to go with a sealed box, any other enclosure makes them sound sloppy. My brother had them installed at one of the world's leading audio installers, Innovative Audio. They did a great job with these subs and had only good things to say about them.

My brother went to them and said he would like to have a VERY loud system, straight of the bat they pointed him into the Kicker lineup. They suggested the 12" because they have a little lower bass than the 10".

They first had them set up with only 250 watts to each 12"(They are two). When I first heard them I was astounded by their loudness. But my brother wanted to go louder, so he took it back in and had 2 JL Audio 1000/1 Amps in. Let me tell you, this is the loudest thing I have ever heard. These things can even make "non bassy" songs POUND.

I was very supprised at how loud they were, but at the same time I was taken back at how crisp they would stay at very loud levels of play. In the Yukon they hit a 157.5 on the decible meter. Thats hitting very hard. They hardly ever distort, but if you push them a little too hard, they have a little "whomp" to them.

To tune these Innovative Audio used an "O-Scope", which is a very high tech, and expensive, piece of equiptment. But since not everyone can use one of these, I would suggest taking your stuff to a place where you can, It makes a very big difference.

So overall, these subs hit hard with what ever power you give them. The more power the better though, I would suggest staying between 500 and 1200. Anywhere in there should be nuts. You definetly get your bang for your buck on these bad boys.
