Help me pay for my new speakers..:)

Pros quality, looks, sound reproduction - Klipsch!
Cons maybe wires
Recommended it? Yes
I just picked up a pair of Klipsch's new line of computer speakers....
WOW.

Listing at around 250.00 some might cringe. I almost did.
Almost....

Some might read posts about hiss, it is gone. This was a faulty preamp, which has been replaced in all 2000 models.

Honestly I don't care about how many watts are coming from each speaker...
go here if you want the specs - http://www.klipsch.com/promedia/pm-specs.asp

What I want is crystal clear, believable sound. And good bass.
Klipsch delivers. Every pennies worth.

Klipsch does have its own sound, all manufacturers do. Some listeners will swear by Klipsch, some will curse them. Please listen to them before buying. I think the reproduction is amazing, but I also love my KG2s(older home stereo speakers). What I hear from some people is the Klipsch sound is a bit tinny. I can't say I agree.

So now you know you need to listen to speakers before buying them...duh?

I am listening to Sarah McLaughlan right now...and bam..every note perfect.

I was playing Unreal earlier...oh my god! Nobody can tell me that doesn't sound better than any freaking computer system out there!!!

Sound levels are good, from all speakers. The sub is known not to be able to keep up with the satellites are sickly high volume levels.

I have Xitel's Storm Plat(4 speaker out, Aureal Vortex 2 chipset), which of course has Aureal's A3D Room Simulator. You walk around what looks like an outdoor garden, and inside several rooms, while audio comes from different points around you....helicopters overhead, loudspeakers in corners, etc. Absolutely perfect reproduction of distance and volume from all points of the rooms. I gotta tell you, you need to hear this.

I don't have DVD on this system, that's what my TV is for. However, these speakers are supposed to shine during digital playback(even though they are analog). If listening to digitally record music is any clue, they do rock.

They are certified THX - (Lucas Films). But I doubt they would hold a candle to a true THX certified speaker system. Anyhow, is the soundcard THX certified? Is the motherboard? I don't think so.

If you can afford to drop 250.00 on speakers GET THESE!
I can't believe them!!! wow.

One drawback is the speaker cable...shoddy...shoddy...shoddy.
22 gauge, could have been 18 or 16, but alas this is a computer system.

These can be replaced, see Klipsch's bulletin board about this.
http://www.klipsch.com. These are not regular banana plugs or RCA connects, they are mono-plugs. However, they probably will do the trick for you.

If you buy them, break them in....break them in....
? - Play music at normal levels for about a week or so, don't crank.
This is true with any speaker system.

Almost forgot..another drawback - no headphone jack. But who the heck is going to spend 250 on speakers and listen to music, dvds through headphones?

The sub is vibrating the floor right now!!!!
Once again - Oh My God!!!!

If you have any further questions on the system, either ask me - or better yet go to the Klipsch forum.

One other note. I read a couple posts and someone said these were difficult to set up..what??
Sub, accepts a pair of wires for each speakers, clip in and go (red to red, black to black, well labeled Front Rear Left Right). Also has one port for control module (located under one front speaker).
Run the wire to the speaker, plug the mono-jack (looks like a headphone jack) in.
Plug the green plug into line out #1 on your soundcard, purple to line out #2.
Plug in the power cord(from the sub), you are now rocking!
Unless you are completely clueless(and should not own a computer anyhow), these are a breeze to set up.
