The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this camera to anyone. It had all the features one could possibly want in a camera. A few drawbacks but what doesn't have?
From the moment I saw the Kodak Advantix Preview camera I knew I had to have it. At the time it was over three hundred dollars so I waited until the cost went down. I did eventually get my camera and cannot imagine using another one. I am partial to standard cameras versus digital as I do not care much for the quality of photos you get with digital in comparison to standard. If you feel the same this is the camera for you. It allows you to see the photo you just took before you select to keep it. This is a fabulous feature to ensure you got the picture you wanted and that it came out right so you know if you need to take another one. With conventional cameras you would need to take several pictures and just hope one comes out. However every rose has its thorn. The processing costs are not low and from the various film developing centers I have gone to I have yet to find one that offers free doubles or film, something that is usually standard with regular film processing. This is something you certainly want to take into account before purchasing the camera. Although every state may vary with costs, I paid over sixty dollars to develop four rolls with doubles. You should also know that nothing is fool-proof, including the Kodak Advatix Preview. Although few and far between, there were times the preview of the photo showed to be crisp and clear but upon developing they did not come out. As I said, this did not happen very often. My best advice for this problem is to take a few pictures in lighting that would normally interfere with a good photo. Also, utilize the features on the camera that allow you to set it up based on where and what you are photographing. This does help. Bonus Features: three different picture layouts including standard, four by six, and panoramic! Also had a timer that actually gives you time to pose! Overall, a great camera worth every penny.
