Decent but not exciting
Pros
optical zoom, low price
Cons
cheap body plastic and control buttons, purplish tinge to pictures, open SD card slot.

No
The Bottom Line:
GO for Minolta Z3. They are worth 50 bucks more.
I bought this thing from MicroCenter. The main reason I bought this was because I already had 2-3 SD memory cards and wanted to buy a camera which uses SD MMC cards. Only Kodaks, Pentax, Nikon and Konica uses SD cards.
So I decided to go for this for its low price.
The worst thing about it is its look and feel. Contrary to some reviews above, the feel is not at all rugged. INfact it look cheap shiny plastic. Even the button and controls look toyish plastic.
The image quality is OK at low zooms. But when using high optical zoom, the image turn purplish.
The camera eats battery a lot too..but it is less compared to an HP camera I had.
The lens dont have a cover and the SD card slot is open. Right now the SD card fits in snugly in the slot, but I am afraid over the time if the fit is not good..there are chance the memory card will slip out.
Overall a not a very exiciting camera, but also not a complete disappointment.
Reading 2 of the above reviews, I somehow felt it has been posted by some dealers who might have stocked up on these cameras are having a hard time to sell it.:) If you read the language of the reviews, it does not look like some consumer evaluation. It looks more like a dealer hard sell.
Spend 50 dollars more and go for Z1. I am going to do that.
