The Bottom Line:
The 5135 is good for someone who is not interested in a long-term use, who want a compact phone with few features. Many Problems = Not worth the money.
I bought this phone about a year and a half ago. I bought it for its sleek, ultra-compact design - and its beautiful blue keypad. The phone is an awesome size, and was one of the coolest cells around when I had bought it. Everything on the Kyocera worked wonderfully - battery life, reception, easy to use menus etc... until about 3-4 months ago, when the phone started to freeze, not allow calls to be answered, the backlight randomly blinking or going out completely and the speaker cutting out and random times. I was extremely happy with my phone until these problems began. I took the phone back to my service provider, and they tell me I was lucky the phone lasted as long as it did without problems. Normally, this model dies within the 6 to 24 month life span. I was even more outraged when I found out all they could do was send it back to Kyocera for repairs, meaning a $200 (CAN) repair fee. I don't think I will be interested in buying another cell phone with the Kyocera name on it. This little phone is awesome for the time it lasts, but definately not worth the new sticker price in the end.
