The Bottom Line:  If you need an expensive cell phone, you can't go wrong with the Kyocera Marbl.
Having inherited a Kyocera Marbl from my son who wasn't using it enough, I've spent the past month testing it out. The Marbl is one of the less expensive options through Virgin Mobile's prepaid cell phone plans. The phone cost us $14.99. You add time cards every 90 days or more often depending on the plan you choose. I don't use a cell phone enough to justify paying a monthly fee, so I like the freedom prepaid plans offer.

The Marbl is small, possibly too small for those with larger fingers. I don't have too hard a time with it, but my husband finds it is too small for his fingertips and he's constantly hitting the wrong button.

The Marbl comes with two games - a game that's like a mix of blackjack and solitaire and Breakout. After a while, these games get incredibly boring. You can access the Internet for $5 a month or $1 a day where you can play additional games, but I find Internet browsing is slow and the games offered take forever to load.

Other features include a tip calculator, normal calculator, alarm clock, voice recording and calendar/date book. It's a full colored screen which is nice, and the screen size is large enough that those with vision issues shouldn't have too hard a time viewing numbers.

With your Marbl, you can send text messages. You are automatically set up with voice mail, call waiting and caller ID. Ringtones can be downloaded for a few dollars more, and the song selection is pretty impressive.

The phone is supposed to hold a charge for a little more than 3 1/2 hours while talking and 9 days when not in use. The most I get from the phone while in use is 3 hours. The good thing is that the charger comes free and it is back at full charge within three hours usually. A car charger does cost extra. New batteries cost more than the phone itself, so if you need a new battery, I suggest doing as I do and purchase a new phone - it's $5 cheaper.
