LG 47LG50 47" HDTV LCD TV

I purchased a 47LG50 just before Thanksgiving. The picture is great, but the sound had some major lip sync problems using the tuner (not with cable).  I sent an e-mail to LG and they responded and told me to call LG to schedule service as it was a known problem. I did call and they did not know of the sound problem, but set up a service call.  When I purchased the set with an extended warantee, I was told by Grant's Appliance that I would receive LG service.  That's true, when you call in for service it is the LG line, but they have their service done by local TV repair. They refered me to "Bens TV" for service. Bens TV said they knew about the problem and they were waiting for a software fix from LG. It's now the middle of January and I'm still waiting for Ben to come out and apply the fix.  Service is an important item when purchasing newer LCD TVs. Be sure to ask who is actually doing the service when making your purchase. I have another LG 26" TV that I purchased before the 47" and did not have problems, but now after the first problem, I have reservations about LG service quality!
