The Bottom Line:
Great phone that is durable, plays music, and takes great pictues. A great value and worth the money.
The LG 8560, otherwise known as the Chocolate 3, was first released in July 2008. It is following after the LG8500 and the LG8550 phones. Some people are confused on how this phone is a Chocolate though. Obviously their confusion is justifiable for simple reasons like the first two generation phones were both slide phones, while this one is a clamshell style phone. Other differences is the touch key features. Both of the original Chocolate phones had a minimum of four keys that were touch sensitive, and this generation of phone does not have any touch sensitive buttons.
But they key feature that makes this phone a Chocolate is the music features. The original Chocolate phone was the first phone by Verizon Wireless to be featured as part cell phone, part music player. This feature has continued on. There is a convienent key on the right side of the phone that will easily connect to the music or you can go through the menu and start the music that way.
One of my personal favorite features on this phone is the ability to do so view so many options from the outside screen. When the phone is closed there is a lock/unlock button on the right side of the phone that will make it so the outside spin wheel will be active. Once the phone is unlocked and you have hit the menu button in the middle of the wheel you are able to view the calender, your text message inbox, missed calls, pictures in your gallery or take new pictures on the phone.
This phone has some upgraded features as far as the camera capability's. It is a 2.0 megabyte camera, which on a cell phone is pretty good. It also can take video's up to 30 seconds, which is better then the standard 15 seconds on most phones.
The battery length on the phone will usually last through two full days on average usage. For me average usuage is a few phone calls a day, about 15 minutes each, and texting throughout both days. If you use your phone more then this you will probably need to charge it more often, but if you use your phone less then the battery will last longer.
A great feature for me with this phone is the fact that it will take a beating. I drop my phone at least once a day, and it has yet to brake. There are a few scratch and some pretty good dings on the edges, but nothing has cracked or broken which is amazing. So if you are hard on your phone, this is a great phone to buy.
Finally this phone comes in two colors. A light blue, a cross between robin eggs blue and sky blue. The other is a dark navy blue/black color, everyone has their own opinions on this. I prefer the light blue because it does not show fingerprints the way the black one does.
