The LG 8560, otherwise known as the Chocolate 3, was first released in July 2008.  It is following after the LG8500 and the LG8550 phones.  Some people are confused on how this phone is a Chocolate though.  Obviously their confusion is justifiable for simple reasons like the first two generation... Having been a previous owner of the original LG Chocolate, this phone is a vast improvement in terms of usability, reliability, and functionality.  Built as a clamshell, this strays from what you would normally expect from a Chocolate, but has a very small profile, and very light.  I would suggest... I bought this phone as an upgrade from my old Razor phone.

The first thing I noticed about this phone was its large buttons.  This allowed me to be able to text very quickly, which was a big deal for a slow texter like myself.  I consider this one of the base reasons why I bought this... Read full review »

Pros Battery Life, mp3 player, FM transmitter
Cons Pocket lint in screen, some annoying quirks
Recommended it? Yes

I got this phone free on one of Verizon's 3-day sales (normally $69.99). I have had this phone for almost a year now and it still functions well for me. From the day I got it, it has had amazing battery life. I usually only need to charge it once a week, and I use it often for texting, calling, and... Read full review »

Pros Nice size, color, great features, a good buy for your money.
Cons Lately it turns off and on randomly
Recommended it? Yes

Unlike LG's chocolate 1 and 2, the Chocolate 3 flips open insead of sliding. It's big screen and big buttons make it easy to text on and the images on the screen are very bright and easy to see and read. So with all the phone companies out there trying to sell you all kinds of phones promising that... Read full review »

Last summer I upgraded my old Motorola "dinosaur" phone to LG's Chocolate 3, based on three things:

1. Price- Only $49.99 and I was eligible for a $50 rebate.

2. Camera- 2MP over the typical 1.5MP, small but noticeable difference.

3. Music Player- Internal memory... Read full review »

Great phone, music player and more

Pros Very good music phone.  It has good voice quality and good signal strength.
Cons Voice commands don't seem to work well.  Other than that a good buy.
Recommended it? Yes

The LG Chocolate 3 VX-8560 phone works just great as a phone, voice quality is just fine.  The voice command doesn't "name dial" at all.  My prior phone Motorola Razor V3m worked just fine for this feature.  The 4 navigation buttons can be programmed which seems to be a common Verizon feature. ... LG Chocolate 3-Very Sweet

Pros Just the right size, no antenna, SD card capability, music storing and playing, loud...
Cons I'm still looking.

I'm hell on cell phones. Plain and simple. I drop them, I kick them, I lose them, I sit on them, so when my last phone, some sort of Motorola flip phone, finally got so old as to not want to take my abuse anymore, I went shopping for a new one. I wanted a phone that I could download Michael Buble... Read full review »

Pros Good camera, battery, fm transmitter
Cons slightly long

I love the Lg Chocolate 3! This cell I would definately recommend to anyone having a struggle between choosing phones. It only comes in two colors though. Baby blue, (the one I have) and the black one. The phone is very skinny, but has a very big screen when opened. A very cool feature about this... Read full review »
