LG DP781 8 in. Portable DVD Player

I bought the DP781 for traveling with my two children.  The picture is great adn the swiveling screen is helpful.  I've had major problems with the Li-ION polymer battery as it took only about six charges before failing totally.  Also, the lid to the DVD player gets stuck very regularly.  My player is about 14 months old.  The unit carries a one year warranty and LG is (in my case) completely unwilling to help me with the battery issue in any way.  I find it odd that unless you're using the unit every day, it's likely that you won't find the unit has issues in time for the warranty to be useful.  LG's baseline support is useless - an offshore, 'read from the script' offering that was a waste of my time.  I did escalate my support concern and was astounded by the poor attitude and almost robotic response I received by the woman I spoke to at the LG Executive Support desk.  I don't feel very good about LG products and don't recommend you purchase this portable DVD player if you intend to rely on the battery.
