I am on my second DP781, I returned the first one because it had some LCD burn out. The second one lasted until just after the warranty ran out. I foolishly sent it back to LG for them to fix for about 65 dollars or so. I got it back and it worked fine for a while and now it will only play a movie for about an hour until it overheats and then stops working. I called LG and the warranty for the repair is only 90 days, so they kindly offered to repair it again for 45 dollars plus labor and parts.
I have two LG televisions and an LG DVD player at home that are great products, not to mention I have had some great mobile phones form LG. I don't understand why their portable DVD players are junk.
I would stay away from LG portable DVD players.
