LG Flare Cell Phone

My boyfriend has had this phone for a little while and from his perspective he thinks it's okay, but from the other end I really dislike it.  There is always static and friction when he makes the slightest movements as if he were rubbing the speaker up against his face ... but he isn't.  I've never heard any phone do that before and it's not because he's got a scruffy face or something, I've known him with many other phones.
