Great product to transfer videos and record off Tivo
I purchased this DVD/VHS combo recorder in May 2008 in order to transfer my home videos from VHS to DVD. I didn't realize that there were recorders out there to accomplish this. I almost went to a business and paid $20 per DVD/home video transfer!

Poor Quality and high price
This is the 3rd LG DVD Recorder I've owned and they have all turned out to be junk. I guess I keep buying LG since I like some of their other products, but this will defentley be the last home audio piece I will by from LG.

I'm Very Disappointed
I bought this model to replace the previous LG DVD/VHS recorder that, after 5 months, wouldn't read, play, FF or rewind DVDs properly without freezing up.
After one week the new model (RC897T) started to shut down timer recordings from regular cable after 5 to 43 minutes and displayed a message...

Worked great for about the first thirty days...
Worked great for about the first thirty days then little by little the DVD player quit reconizing any DVD's. At first after five to ten attempts it would finally play the disc. A year and a half later it won't even attempt to read the disc. Time to take it in for repair or through it in the trash... Read full review »

Average Product
This product is outdated for todays technology. It works great for what it does, VHS and standard DVD. This is not good for those looking for the newest technology. It's probably not the greatest for a home theater and the quality is not the greatest. Read full review »
