NEVER BELIEVE SALESMEN

Pros It looked nice, and Speakerphone should be on more phones.
Cons Too many to list, but I'll try.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  This phone is terrible, useless, and too expensive if it was only $1.
My fiancee and I both needed a new phone at the same time and decided to go with Verizon for their mobile to mobile minutes. I tooled through the displays and came across a few phones. I might have restricted myself a bit to much, I don't like flip phones because I'm scared I'll break them. So I went with this one soley because it did not flip and speakerphone.

LOOKS: I'll be honest, the phone looks nice. It was silver with an ashy blue cover, and it was small compared to many other phones that listed similiar features.

MENUS: You need to carry a road map to get around. It took me weeks to figure out how to do this (I eventually gave up and just returned it, but not for this reason). I think they tried to completely blaze a new trail with this phone. But the new direction they took was confusing. Just programing in the phone numbers was an enourmous task and it took me hours to figure out how to due voice dialing, which I never got to work. So much wasted time.

DISPLAY: It was monotone, no fancy baseball games will be played on this one, nor pictures taken. 6 Lines of text, which is honestly nice when your scrolling through the list of names. Speaking of which was a pain in the behind. Now be honest, how many numbers do you have in your phone right now? I would make a wager that 90% have less than 75 numbers. Why, please tell me why this phone had you type in the first few letters and then it would search your phone for a matching name like it was Google. Dumb feature.

3RD GENERATION: This means you are GPS enabled and you will flash on a cop's computer if you dial 911, very nice feature of many new phones.

VOICE RECORDER:For when you want to make notes to yourself or record a conversation. It was alright, of course there is a limit to the amount it can record.

SPEAKERPHONE: I had this on another phone before this. It was a fantastic feature. I loved it. Built in hands free. Worked better than I thought it ever would...... on my old phone. The LG's speakerphone was horrible. You don't expect the sound quality to be like a stereo, but it was not intelligible. The speaker did allow for fancy ring tones, but this is not a reason to buy the phone.

USB: Apparantly you could buy a hookup to connect this to your daily planner on your computer. I never had the opportunity to do this, so I can't comment on more than it's existence.

ANNOYING POINT: Changing the volume of a call while on the phone was a massive pain.

And now for the big points

RECEPTION: Remember the begining, both my fiancee and I bought phones, same plan, same day, different phones? My reception was so horrible I didn't know what to do. So to see if it was the service or the phone, I was carrying both phones on me. I'll give you one guess which one it was........ It was the phone. Her phone had 2-3 bars of service when my LG couldn't even make/receive a call.

LAST AND DEFINITELY LEAST, BATTERY:
Wake up7:30
Unplug phone and go to work: 8:30
Make 15 minute call: 10:00
Phone dead:1:00
I tried cycling the battery, didn't help.

Now you might be sitting there thinking that I just got a lemon when it refers to Reception/Battery. You might want to ignore all the other points about design flaws, and think that the phone you will get will not be a lemon. That is what I thought. I went back to the Verizon store and told the clerk my dilema 2 days after buying the phone. He was useless and lied to my face. I was told that every phone gets the same reception, there must be something wrong with the battery which also affected it's ability to obtain a signal.

I exchanged it for another phone. There was no difference. It is a horrible phone. I now have a motorola 120e. Though this phone is not without its flaws, it leaves the LG in the dust. The LG went from a $100 phone to a $30 phone in less than 6 months. That should say something.
