The Bottom Line:
I wouldn't recommend this phone because of poor battery life, difficult programming, poor quality speakerphone, limited durability and looks.
When consulting with my friendly Verizon sales person, I specifically requested the most durable phone that Verizon had to offer. I did not care about special features or accessories, only that this phone would survive a construction worksite.
It has handled quite a few drops and does well with saw dust and what not, but I still regard it as a kiddy phone. The numbers on the rubbery keypad had worn off almost completely in six months. In the hot summer, the keypad stuck to my fingers like a gummy bear. The battery is short lived. My three year old motorola still holds a better charge than this phone did at about six months.
The programming on this phone is horrible and thoughtless. Pulling numbers from my address book to give to clients, the phone only shows the number for about 3 seconds. Retrieving any information on the phone requires multiple steps.
The manual claims it has voice activation for the address book, and gives clear instructions on how to do this. This phone will not perform this function.
Speakerphone is equivalant to two tin cans and a string.
Verizon cannot get me a new keypad for this phone. "It's an old phone ".. at six months it's an old phone? Wow, the future moves so fast, amazing.
This phone is not suitable for daily use. Compounding this problem is that Verizon Wireless (and I assume most other companies as well) is mostly sales with minimal service. Example: my Verizon store has six people on the floor on saturdays, and one technician in the back who I heard say repeatedly "this is an old phone ".
