The Bottom Line:
Steer clear of this phone-it isn't worth taking home.
I got this phone for free-when hubby purchased a new phone at Verizon. It wasn't worth it! How can a free phone not be worth it? Because I had to drive 100 miles round trip to return it and get a phone that worked.
I brought it home on Saturday night --charged it over night. The next day I spent about 20 minutes putting my contacts into the phone. That evening I received a call from my daughter and talked to her 10 minutes-I had talked to my son earlier in the day for no more than one minute.
I called my other son Sunday evening and talked to him for about 2 minutes. A little later I called same son again (we were watching the superbowl) I heard him say hello and then the phone went dead. And I do mean dead. No battery left at all.
I charged it again that night. I used it a little on Monday but no more than 30 minutes. That night I noticed it had 3/4 of a charge left so I didn't put it on the charger the next morning it was dead again!
Another problem I had with it was I couldn't call out on it about 90% of the time. It would dial and then I would get the message "call failed try again". Calls didn't always come in either. I know of one time that it chimed and I went to see what was going on and I had a voice mail message-but I had been sitting right there and the phone never rang-that is why the caller had to leave a message.
I ended up returning the "free" phone and buying an upgrade.
If they offer you this phone free you may be willing to take a chance but for me having to travel so far to return it I wasn't about to try another one. Besides I waitied in line 1 1/2 hours the first time and 30 minutes when I returned it and my time is more valuable than that.
