Weigh in your options and "VU" the details before buying

Pros Very stylish, Sleek, easy to use
Cons Overheats, hard to text with, buttons do not always cooperate
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  I would definitely not recommend  the LG Vu. My problems with the phone surpass the beauty and weight. I would rather have dependability broken down or with a flat.
When I bought the LG Vu, my trusty razer had just broken in half. I needed something now and really wanted a touchscreen after using a friend's. I kind of fiddled around with it at the unnamed store and the sales woman sold me when she told me that with my upgrade I was eligible for the $50 rebate (which never came to me). I wanted the phone and that pretty much sweetened the deal on my decision. Upon bringing it home, I was very happy with my purchase.
After using it a little, I found there were many things I found to be cumbersome and somewhat annoying. When I dial, the keys do not always recogognize the actual number, but a number next to it, so I have many times tried calling my mom or husband only to find some stranger answering. "Why not use the list ?"  you are probably asking. Well, it is easier to just punch a number instead of scrolling through an enormous list that could come in handy if I was in a bind. THis is usually done at a red light or stop sign, so I am not always paying attention. When i hit a number, I EXPECT it to be that number.
I did adjust a little and figure out ways to make this simpler, then texting. Maybe my fingers are just way beyond human size or something, but that thing is hard to text on.
About 2 months ago, my phone went out. I dont know what happened, but it would not come on. I went back to the store and told them I needed a new phone but I was not eligible for another upgrade yet. I was somewhat leary about paying for another phone after I wasted $135 on this one when the guy said it was still under warranty. Though I was not crazy about the phone, the grey cloud lifted. He directed me to the courtesy phone where i spent a good 30 minutes with someone on the phone who decided to send me a new phone and let me send mine to them afterward. I got the new phone, it worked! I started to use it a little and have noticed it heats up as I talk on it. It actually gets hot to the point that I have to pull it from my ear. I looked up information online and then called customer support. The gentleman I spoke with told me he has never had a complaint about a phone like that overheating and would check the database if I hold momentarily. When he came back he told me he found nothing on that problem. I told him to get online and search for it and you can find posts about it and that it was not an isolated issue. He said he had to go by the company information, which I understood, but was not happy with. Since I was on that speakerphone talking to him, he could not do the required tests to check the phone. I have to call back during the week when I am not at work and they are opened to help me. Hopefully they can resolve this. I did not have the same problem with my other Vu, but then again, that one doesn't work anymore either.
