The Bottom Line:
Although it looks like a nice phone, and previous LG phones have been satisfactory, I would not buy this phone. If you want touch display, buy another brand.
I've had this phone since Aug 2009, and have had it replaced once. The internal display on my first EnV Touch failed. The problem with this phone is the poor quality external touch screen and internal screen. The functionality of the touch screen becomes erratic after a time, and is not corrected by the calibration feature. Eventually the virtual buttons will not work on the first press, and/or a different button will function instead of what you pushed (e.g., pressing "9" gives you a "6"). The touch screen is a pressure-type, not like an iPhone or iTouch. I believe it is a good idea poorly executed. The internal display sometimes stays black or turns an odd color with nothing else displayed. Scrolling through lists of calls or contacts is horrible, and either results in constantly choosing the first item touched, or the list scrolls out of control like the wheel on the Price is Right. LG needs a completely new touch display design/technology.
I've had other EnV models, and was very pleased with them. I thought I'd tried a touch screen phone. I would not buy this one again. An EnV 3 is a better bet due to its mechanical buttons, though I've heard issues with that model as well (e.g., inadvertent shutdown).
On the plus side the software applications/features are good and well designed. I'm not sure how service provider specific the software features are, so I won't dwell on them much. The current version 5.1 of VZ Navigator is worst than the previous version 4.0.
