Decent Overpriced Speakers

Pros Nice sound, Look cool, Easy Interface
Cons Sub doesn't have what it takes, Overpriced
Recommended it? No
When I got my first PC a few winter's back, when 4 point sound was non existent, I wanted the best quality sound. After visiting Fry's Electronics, I decided that Labtec APX-5820 speakers were for me. They were slightly expensive ($150), came with what looked like a powerful sub, and the interface looked really nice. So should you get these speakers? Maybe, if you can find them for under $100. It's not that these speakers are bad. They sound better then average, and they look cool. One of the problems in these speakers was the sub. It is really big, which in some cases can be ok, if it is really powerful. Unfortunately, this sub had a base rating of 20, yet it felt like 10. Cambridge Soundworks FPS 2000 has a sub that is half the size and weight, and almost 3 times as powerful. And they are cheaper at some online stores. This is probably a good setup for apartment gamers. Nice sound, easy interface, and a sub that won't pis* off the downstairs neighbors too much. Besides the price and sub issues, these are a more then average 2.1 setup. Now though, I would go with PCWORKS FourPointSound, currently $70. Great deal in performance and price.
