Labtec? LSC-150 Speakers ~ Wanted: Dead or Alive

Pros ..
Cons ..
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Epinions says this is the most important part of the review? What about the techno stuff?
I've murdered more speakers than a human should. Three computers and I've printed a bullseye on every speaker system that came with the computer. Three years ago I purchased these inexpensive Labtec? LSC-150 speakers just to tie me over since I was going to get a new system anyway. Turns out ......... $1800.00 later I was using the Labtec? speakers again.

Then computer 3 came along. New small compact speakers, swank and savvy. And POW - blew 'em. I don't understand it either since I seldom use my sound on my computer. That aggravating 'You've Got Mail' clone just fries me. So what am I doing wrong?

Not a dang thing because I've still got those Labtec? LSC-150 speakers and they work just fine!

Other than the price, the small size is what initially attracted me to these speakers. They measure 4"h x 2"w x 2"d and come in a standard white/beige color with grey speaker fronts. Fits in with most computers made these days and looks like they came with the system.

You can use them with batteries (2 AAA) or the 6V AC adapter, which is optional. I chose the AC adapter because I am even more deadly on batteries. They say you can also attach them to the computer but I don't see how and I'm not about to attempt it either.

These little guys have their own onboard power switch, bass boost and volume control, or you can adjust appropriately through your standard computer volume control set up. Their power output is 1.35W and response bandwidth is 80-1600Hz. What does that mean? See why I don't deserve speakers?

They were developed as part of Labtec? multi-media compact system yet they deliver sound quality as good as the larger and bulkier speakers I've had in the past.

The back of each speaker has a little trap door to store away the cables when you aren't using the system or when you decide to move and have to pack everything up. This is particularly nice because you don't have to look at that endless tangle of wires and try to decide who goes to what and how to hook them up.

Hey, not everyone is a techno so these simple things make our life easier.

If you are looking for an inexpensive brand of speakers, a backup set of speakers, or you are tired of larger and bulkier speakers, then by all means look into the Labtec? LSC-150 system.

Three years baby and still going strong... shhhhh ... don't tell 'em.

Thanks,
Susi
