The Bottom Line:
If quality sound is what you want go elsewhere. If you just want to be able to hear then these will work fine.
If all you want to do is hear sound then this is an inexpensive way to go. If you listen to a lot of music on your computer you want to invest a little more for a better sound.
These take 4 C size batteries and have a bass boost and a volume control. If you use the bass boost the sound quality goes way down and is very stacicky.
If you keep it on low volume the sound is better but as you turn the volume up it gets worse. I tend to keep the speakers off and use my computer volume control to adjust it and it seems to work better that way.
As I'm using my computer more I'm thinking it's time to invest in a better set of speakers. I do like the compact size of them, they don't take up much space and they look nice.
