LABTEC STEREO SPEAKERS WITH SUBWOOFER MODEL # LCS-2414
I purchased these speakers for my daughter at Staples. She really gets into her music.
These speakers provide a full rich sound that enhance her music listening. Before we got
this speaker system she had a cheep factory set that did not have very good sound quality.
Her computer also has a dvd player, the subwoofer adds great effects to her movies and games.
These speakers do not take a lot of space. Nevertheless, it is still quite surprising to
see just how small these speakers are once they are out of the box. The sub and speakers
themselves are also quite light, the subwoofer features a wooden enclosure for improved bass
response. A four inch driver fires downward in the bottom-ported enclosure. This driver is
complety unprotected, so be careful with it. Since it is on the bottom, this shouldn't pose
any major problems.
The power button is right on top of the sub and the AC adapter plugs into the back of the sub.
The sub is not shielded and is designed to be placed on the floor.
The satellites are shielded and are angled slightly upwards to help
point the sound at the listener.
The right satellite is apparently the center to this whole system as
it features the volume control, three separate audio cables permanently affixed to
its backside. The volume control is a nice dial on top that allows for quick and easy
adjustment of the system volume. There is no separate level control for the sub.
Cables coming out of the right satellite include the input from the computer, the output to
the sub and the input from the sub Labtec have color-coded all the cable.
The AC adapter connects to the back of the sub to power the whole system.
Unfortunately, the bulky power brick is designed such that it will block one or two additional
outlets on a surge protector
A 2-inch driver with 5W RMS power each drives each satellite. The sub uses
A 4 inch driver and a 15W RMS amp. Labtec does not specify a distortion level for
Those power ratings. The crossover frequency is also unspecified but I think it?s around
200Hz.
Features
Wood enclosure subwoofer designed for floor placement
Space-efficient ergonomic satellite speakers with volume control
Max-XDrivers - High excursion drivers that allow for greater dynamic range, improved bass and lower distortion
Ergonomic, space-efficient satellite speakers.
Power on/off switch
Convenient master volume control on satellite
Color-coded jacks and plugs.
Specs
Frequency response: 40Hz-20kHz
Power output: 25 watts RMS: Subwoofer - 15 Watts; Satellites - 10 watts, (5W + 5W)
Speaker impedance: 4 ohms
4" Max-X high-excursion subwoofer, and two 2" shielded Max-X satellite speakers
AC adapter: UL/CUL or CSA approved
Cord length: 9' to each satellite speaker
I am considerably impressed! Excellent, rich & clear bass response no distortion at Any volume
Crisp & clear sound I know better speakers do exist but in my opinion it would be difficult
to find an equal set up for this price.
This three-piece system produces deep, rich bass and realistic effects. I would recommend this product to everyone from gamers to music lovers.
