Legacy takes to competition
Pros
Great bass response. Very adaptable to many different systems
Cons
VERY, VERY over rated wattage
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
BUY BUY BUY. Better price for a great speaker. Good bass response and decent durability.
When I got hold of these speakers I was really skeptical.
In the past I have only dealt with better known brand names, such as Rockford Fosgate.
When I finally decided to try out some cheaper brands, I got quite a surprise. They had an awesome bass response that I have heard only in expensive brands. They sounded great on my amplifiers, but I still had concerns with putting them on lower grade amps. I tried them on four different systems, and they adapted to each one skillfully.
I was so impressed with their performance, I set up my competition car with eight legacy tens. I headed to a local contest to see if they could hold up to the pros. To make the story short, I took third place out of about five hundred competitors.
I have had a couple of problems with them however.
First, while testing the limits, they would blow out very quick. (Other brands I wont mention hold up much longer and better)
Second, I know just about everyone overrates their wattage, but legacy gets a little carried away. Be aware that your getting a lot less than you think.
Third, Maybe I was just very unlucky, but I had two of the speakers I purchased where the wires were not installed in the cone properly. So when I turned them on, the vibrations made them connect and short out the speakers.
Overall, I love these speakers, and I won't use anything else in any of my cars anymore. Great sound for a very reasonable price.
