I'm one happy camper after purchasing these fine optics! After having bought pair after pair of bino's in the $250 to $400 dollar range, and not being happy with them, I decided to go ahead and spring for these Lecia's. And I cannot over emphasize how glad I am. I've never owned, or seen optics with this level of quality. Crystal clear resolution, powerful, and fairly light weight (approx 23 ounces). While not cheap in any fashion, these optics are clearly superior to most others on the market. Especially those in the $250 to $400 dollar range that nickeled and dimed me to death.
Now, for anyone considering purchasing premium binoculars, a word or two about my purchasing experience, for I spent about 3 months (on and off of course) doing research before shelling out the big bucks. Beware of the grey market stuff folks. For those who aren't familiar, the grey market is made up of products that were basically designed for sale in the third world, and these products frequently aren't designed to US, Canadian, or European specifications. I include knock-offs in the grey market. They are out there folks, especially on the web, and since they aren't manufactured to higher specifications, they don't have the same warranty. They typically will be offered for sale at $100 - $150 less than the originals. Warranty differences on this model ranged from lifetime on the originals, to 6 months on the grey markets........ I'd spring for the originals if I were you.
I found the folks at Eagle Optics (http://www.eagleoptics.com/) to be very, very helpful, although I ended up purchasing mine at Adorama (http://www.adorama.com/). Both are on the web, and both good operations.
Good luck!
