A ghost inhabited my radio!

Pros Great price for a standard CD alarm clock.
Cons Speakers started working sporadically(speaker ghosts).
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  All in all, I'm happy that I gave this unit another and would recommend it to anyone. However, if you get speaker ghosts, you can't say I didn't warn you!
For many months, I wanted to purchase a CD clock radio alarm clock. However, I was not interested in paying $70 or more for the sweet satisfaction of being able to wake to the "Sounds of Nature" CD I had purchased. I'm cheap like that.
One day, while browsing the isles of my local Wal-Mart electronics area, I happened upon a CD alarm clock radio at a fairly reasonable price. I picked up the box, quickly read the features, and happily shelled out the $30 or so that it cost.
I got it home, plugged it in, lit some candles and placed my CD in the player. Birds chirping, a light rainshower, and a fabulous waterfall came pouring out of the speakers. Although inexpensive, this unit actually has quality sound. Of course, there is no comparison to BOSE here but you do get what you pay for. It has higher quality sound than a regular alarm clock radio that you would pay about $15 for.
You can choose to wake up to the radio(comes with antenna), CD, or annoying BEEEEp, BEEEEp alarm sound(not recommended). I, of course, chose to play my "Sounds of Nature" CD for a great sense or morning calm. Thankfully, this unit has a programming feature so that you don't have to wake up to the same sounds everyday. The features are very easy to use, and the buttons are labeled clearly so that even a child could program it or set the alarm.
All was going well with my alarm clock until about 10 months after I purchased it. I woke up and it was 9:45. EEEK! I was supposed to be to work by 9:00 am! I jumped up, took a quick shower and ran out the door. All the while, thinking "I know I set that alarm last night! What happened?"
Well, later that night I got home and started to play with it. I would turn it all the way up and barely a whisper would be coming from the speakers. Suddenly, it would go full blast, scaring me half to death. So I played with the volume a bit and got it to where the sound was enjoyable. Next thing I know, the speakers would fluctuate anywhere from tolerable to crazy loud. Hmmm, I must have speaker ghosts! Nah, probably just a short somewhere within the unit.
So, I loaded up my prized CD player and took it back to Wal-Mart. I was going to exchange it for a different one with more features but I decided no-I was fairly happy with the one I had aside from the speaker incident and if it happens again, it would be the last time.
