Initially the perfect solution now needs to be reset daily.
Pros
Meets all the needs of a good home router.
Cons
Unreliability means I'll have to buy a new one soon!

I bought the Linksys BEFSR81 over a year ago and it was affordable, providing all the solutions I needed: Networking, Printer sharing, network firewall protection (Norton Internet Security has detected no attacks since it's been connected), smooth internet sharing and my VPN client can connect to the office without problems through the router. For about 11 months it was perfect and I recommended it to friends and colleagues.
However after a year a fault has developed and on an almost daily basis I have to do a full reset on the unit. This doesn't cause me any problems as I use it as a DHCP server and don't assign IP addresses so I don't need to re-enter this info. Also I have it next to my desk, but I have a colleague (experiencing the same problem) who has to go in to his loft every time it needs to be reset. This problem appears common for this model and frequently develops over time. A quick Webferret internet search bought up about 30 pages with customers having the same issues.
I'm about to take it up with Linksys technical support. Wish me luck!
