liteon Terrible Product lvc-9016g
Pros
lots of source connectors.
Cons
Has to always be on to watch tv. Destroys dvds. Terrible product.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
buy something else
The player destroyed my DVD by spinning it at an extreme speed until it cracked radially from the center, making a horrible noise when I woke up and found it. The player starts spinning extremely fast whenever there is a dvd sitting in it unused for more than an hour.
The unit will not pass thru any source without being on, so you have to turn on the dvd player in order to watch cable. You cannot get any source out the cable coax connector, the coax connector is just a link from input to output.
The unit does not remember any settings so you have to set it up every time it goes off.
You have to leave the unit on, not just plugged in all the time.
The sound through ch4 is noisy and loud, the sound through the a1/a2 is quite and faint you have to crank it up to hear it.
The unit will not play DVD’s recorded using roxio.
The company sent me a firmware upgrade but I had to buy special software to uncompress the file. The instructions for firmware upgrade did not work I had to write to liteon several times. The technical support from liteon was terrible.
You would be better off avoiding liteon products.
