The Bottom Line:
Good price, and easy to use. I recommend it.
I am very pleased with this DVD Recorder. I already own a CyberVision DVD Recorder that I have on the TV in the living room. But I have always found that one difficult to program. So when I decided to buy a DVD recorder for the TV in my computer room I did my homework and looked for a good DVD recorder that was EASY. I also did not want to spend a lot of money. I found it in this Lite-On unit. Extremely easy to use and program. I especially like the on screen program that guides you through the process effortlessly. I also like the small footprint. Takes up very little space which was important because of where I wanted to place it as well as the fact that the TV I put on top of it is only a 9" TV. A larger unit would have stuck out considerably from under the TV. The recordings that I have made so far (using SP) are good quality. This unit does not have a LED display on the front of the unit. But I don't miss that (and it's clock) at all. And another nice touch is that the auxiliary jacks located on the front of the unit are concealed behind a door which hides them when not in use. The remote control is well thought out. There are button shortcuts on the remote to get you anyplace you want to go without going all through the menu system. The remote also has a channel skip button so that you can zip through those commercials quickly. Another plus is that this unit uses dual media. Meaning you can use either DVD+R/RW or DVD-R/RW in it. You don't have to remember which type yours uses when in a store looking at a shelf full of different types. I am very happy with this unit and would recommend it to others.
