This remote is really cool - it has a large database of available device to operate, a programmable interface, the ability show custom buttons in a configurable display, and a generally good shape and feel in your hand.

Given all that, I found it totally unusable. It has one feature which is a killer. No matter what you do, you can't turn off it's need to try to power on every device in an activity list when you switch to it. So, if you have a TV that is already powered on, it turns it off. Same with a PS2, which is a real killer if your kids were playing a game when you walk into the room with the remote and hit a button hoping to help out with the volume.

This limitation applies to other infrared devices which could be programmed as well. We have an air purifier, and even though it is infrared there is no way I can add it to the remote because keeps turning it off, which kind of defeats the purpose.

If you or anyone else ever uses another remote or switch anything manually, chances are you Harmony will be totally wrong from then on as well. We ended up finding it to be the most problematic device in our Household because of this, and it has been shelved as a $129 "oops", which my wife is always glad to remind me of...
