The Bottom Line:
If you're looking for cheap speakers for onboard sound don't hesitate to pick these up.
For 2.0 speakers these do rather well for the price tag. The majority of people who would be interested in these are those with an onboard sound card, so can't get much better then these.
I picked them up for a Shuttle system I built over the weekend for the sole purpose of being my Roku Box (because actually buying the box isn't as cool as making your own!). Because I was limited on slots and I wanted to get a dedicated video card and a wireless card in the Shuttle it meant no sound card which meant that I was going the 2.0 route for speakers.
They were easy to setup (no shocker there) but what did shock me is how clear the sound as I wasn't expecting much. They are a little bit larger then the average 2.0 speakers and look nice sitting up near my television. I didn't try to max out the volume as I didn't want to blow anything, but I did go to about 75% of max volume and everything was sounding good.
All in all good little speakers, pleasently surprised and I'm sure they can be found for under $30 NIB if shopped around. I picked them up at Target so I'm sure they are easy to find locally elsewhere.
