Pros Price, fast RMA turnaround
Cons Performance is poor, RMA did not solve problem
Recommended it? No

Revision C of the router (single antenna)

I have wireless and wired connections to the router.

After a long battle trying to get the wireless connection to initially connect to the router from both a MAC and a PC, I finally managed to get both to connect. It had to be done with... Read full review »

Worked well for 2 months...

Pros Base station setup was fairly easy (experienced PC user but new to home networks).
Cons Basic reliability is an issue with certain units.
Recommended it? No

After about 2 months the unit lost connection to the base (wired) connection. Rebooting and getting it started seemed to work for a period of 1-12hours then back to no connection. I've been through a bypass/repeat cycle 3 times now. Sigh. The wireless connection is also affected, of course. This is... Read full review »

This upgrade did nothing for me

bydylanfly Dec 6, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros easy installation, good tech help on phone
Cons weak broadcast signal, slightly slower speed for 11b computers in network
Recommended it? No

We currently use an older Microsoft MN500 wireless router, which has been a bit disappointing to us. Our main need is to get reception in the basement, and the MN500 just wasn't giving good coverage. So we decided to get a new "G" unit and hope for better speed and coverage.

The good... Read full review »

The best router you can ever get

bypaotruong Dec 5, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros You can train a monkey to hit enter and install it for you.
Cons None, I never had problems about always restarting before.
Recommended it? Yes

It is extremely easy to install. I had doubt about setting up the router but all you have to do is just click next and next, you can train a monkey just to hit enter and install it for you. The connection is great, when I checked my status it's always very good or excellent. It's not cheap router,... Read full review »

Terrible performance in mixed b & g networks

bytvaddictca Nov 23, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Inexpensive (about $40 after rebate currently)
Cons Terrible throughput in mixed b & g networks
Recommended it? No

We needed a new router to replace our old Linksys 802.11b router. We tried this one because it was on sale and had a $30 rebate. Initial setup seemed to go by quickly, but it didn't seem to be broadcasting a signal that any of our 802.11b access points could pick up, even after several reboots of... Read full review »

Inexpensive wireless G router (with the right firmware )

byluckycat007 Nov 16, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Inexpensive
Cons Flaky drivers, reports of problems with p2p systems
Recommended it? Yes

This is a reasonable router for the money, if you can live through the trials and tribulations of D-Link driver updates, which at times might make you wonder if anyone actually tests new drivers before they are released. While I would recommend the D-Link DI-624, I would encourage anyone with... Read full review »

An Outstanding Router

byp3navyguy Oct 17, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Fast, reliable connection; easy setup; outstanding range
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

I recently bought a Netgear router and had to send it back because it continually dropped the wireless connection. Then I went to Office Max and bought one of these puppies. The setup was easy, right out of the box. The only problem I ran into was selecting the "For most DSL users" option on the IP... Read full review »

Buggy, drops connections.

bygreasemonky Aug 30, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Looks nice
Cons Buggy connections, and software.
Recommended it? No

Set it up and was connected in minutes. I thought this was easy and speeds were great. Then I set up my router for security as everyone should do. Worked great for 2 weeks and then the horror started. First would not connect at times, then a short while later not at all. I tried different firmware,... Read full review »

Poor Range on H/W Version C3

bycrap123456 Aug 22, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Price is good. Packaging is good. Not sure if I'll buy again.
Cons LOTS of disconnects. A pain to continuously "refresh" and "connect".
Recommended it? No

H/W Rev C is the ONE antenna model, not 2 antennas as shown on the picture. Price is good, range is poor. I have a 2 story house, 2400 sq. ft. The DI-624 is upstairs next to street-side front window. A Sony laptop, using a DWL-G630, is downstairs near back yard side window. An Apple laptop... Read full review »

Unreliable router with very poor support

bylcurran Apr 10, 2004
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Very fast and very few drops on wireless
Cons Unreliable for wired, confusing menus, very poor technical support
Recommended it? No

When this is working, it is a great wireless router. I have two computers connected by Internet. I lose the ability to connect these computers with the Internet after a few days. I never had a similar problem with Netgear or Linksys non-wireless routers. Tech support is as bad as it gets. When I... Read full review »
