Decent as secondary speakers
Pros
Good sound, looks spiffy.
Cons
Large, bulky plugs; no off switch
Recommended it?
Yes
I'm probably the oddball of the bunch here, because I don't use my Soundman X2 speakers with my computer. I use them to provide sound from my Rio 500 MP3 player, as kind of a shelf system. This three-piece set up looks fine on a bookshelf or other prominent place in your home.
An advantage of this is, because of the added subwoofer, the bass sounds very good. This is especially good with MP3 players, since they don't have the most powerful bass sound you've ever heard.
This also works well with portable CD players.
This is a nice, low-cost way to have the best of both worlds. A small drawback is the seemingly miles of cords there are, connecting all the various components together. There's no delicate way to hide them, so you just have to sort of tuck them behind.
Now, if only the Rio had an AC adapter...
