Good Little Scope at a Great Price
Pros
Excellent example of fine Mak-Cass optics and machining for a great price.
Cons
Included eyepiece and sights OK . Get a better eyepiece and illuminated reflex sight.

A 70mm is about the smallest I would go for planetary and deep sky viewing because as with all Cassegrain scopes an approximate 30% central obstruction cuts down on alot of gathered light...BUT...this scope is great. The optics are really good and it shows a darn near perfect pattern on both sides of focus, there is no scattered light when viewing a bright object like the moon, the mechanics are flawless, etc. etc. etc. The machining and finish work also show alot of production care. It is almost all metal construction.
I originally bought my 70 after viewing through my Dad's Astele 95, and his also has similar excellent performance. My honest opinion is that this is a poor man's Questar (very poor in my case).
I would not be ashamed to exhibit the Astele 70 at a major star party.
