Pioneer ain't bad - simple but solid
Pros
sound quality, simplicity, few moving parts
Cons
volume knob poorly indexed
Recommended it?
Yes
My last few car radios were kenwood, and I dug the sound quality, but I wanted one with a front slot load, NOT a flip down or auto-flip deck. The last two radios broke from the moving parts. This deck is plain and simple, nothing too fancy.
Sound quality is very solid, I use decent polk after market speakers and the deck plays very loud and clean.
The menu systems are easy to navigate and read - my biggest complaint is the deck uses a volume knob like you'd find on a home receiver. This looks kinda cool, but the indexed numbered (0-62)advances in volume seem so small and it takes a lot of turning to make a noticeable change in volume. This makes the knob fairly annoying.
Overall this is a good mid-priced deck. Sound quality and money are important to me - i'm satisfied.
