Breaks up at REALLY HIGH volume levels

Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you're looking for some decent bass that will fit in a small space, this is your speaker.
Spotted one of these at Circuit City only two days before they closed for good. No box, no remote, no manual; only the speaker/amp itslef and the vertical mounting brackets. Must have been the display model. I wasn't really in the market for a subwoofer, but for $18.60 (No, that's NOT a typo... less that nineteen bucks!) I figured I'd give it a shot. Last summer I helped my son put a couple of MTX JackHammer 12" subs in his '79 Cutlass Calais and they sounded amazing, so why not?
I have an '06 Mitsubishi Raider DuroCross Double-Cab truck, not a lot of mounting options, so to make it easily removable in case I need to put the whole family in the truck, I screwed it to a board and seat-belted it to the center back seat. I built a wiring harness using wire and a cigarette lighter plug I had laying around, RCA & molex connectors from Radio Shack, and a 10' length of black split-tube wiring jacket from Lowes. Total cost - under thirty dollars, INCLUDING the speaker.
With the controls tweaked properly, it sounds GREAT! It will start to break up at extremely high volume levels, though. Hey, it's only 10"...
I e-mailed MTX to see about purchasing a remote, they hooked me up with an 800 number. Haven't called yet, but I expect there should be no trouble obtaining one.
