Difficult menu system betrays programmer's loss of focus

This style of stick-MP3 player is sold under a large variety of names, but the programmer for the ROM-based menu system uses most of the buttons and functionalities for HIS menus, and forgets that "Playing MP3s is the Main Purpose" of this device.
It's easy to get trapped inside menus where Powering Down is the only way to escape this maze. If you "tap" a wrong button or confuse a Tap with a Hold-Down for a brief moment longer, I've spent 3-4 minutes wandering thru menus.
It's quicker to disassemble the product, remove the battery, replace it, re-assemble it and start over - that only takes a minute or two!
Finding this or the 512k version for $15-25 makes this a nice toy, but the Programmer really loved his menu system more than he remembered to make it easy to simply PLAY.
