Do not waste your time with the Magellan 500 GPS
This is my 2nd handheld GPS and I am wondering why I didn't check the reviews first. My last GPS was a Garmin eTrex that I purchased 8 years ago. The Garmin held up well but was limited on features. Don't ever rely on it
Triton 500 value pack didn't work out of the box, Fatal Application Errors. Been back to distributor and "fixed". Do not believe anyone if they tell you a software revision will resolve the issues. Do not buy
Do Not Buy!!! I uploaded the new version of software and it froze up, I had to send back in for a new one, two weeks later I still have not received a new gps. No hiking map available
After a colaps of my Triton 200 europe Magellan did sent my the 500 without map. After contact with Magellan they sent my a link for down-loading a europe map, but it is a water-map and no walking map. Now Magellan don't support the europe market any more. HELP!!
