The Bottom Line:
If you purchase this unit expect a lot of trouble with it.
I bought this unit in June to help out with my traveling. What a waste of money and time that decision has cost me. The unit got me totally lost on my first trip. The fuse blew the second time I used it. On my third try the electrical connector pin on the unit broke off. To make the matter even worse I had to send it back to get fixed. Thales Navigation customer service is more than horrible, it hinges on criminal. It's one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. First I had to pay $4 to fax the repair department my receipt. I guess they didn't believe I actually bought it. Then I had to bear the $15 shipping cost. They told me the turn around time was 2-3 days, but I didn't get the unit back for 3 weeks. To my complete disbelief they had replaced my unit with another used unit that had a damaged screen and some nicks and scratches. They included a note that said "We have replaced your unit, please take note of your new serial number." So, I guess they couldn't fix the one I sent so they gave me a USED unit as a replacement. I still can't believe it. The very least I would expect is a new unit, not one that was damaged. When I called them back the customer service person said that I would have to take it up with the returns department but at that point I just didn't want to waste any more of my time on this idiotic company. I'm in the process of disputing the charge on my credit card and filing complaints with the BBB and consumer protection agency. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND THEIR PRODUCTS!
