Nice combo unit, but it didn't last

Pros 1- Picture quality is as good as other reviews state. 2- Lots of input flexibility.
Cons 1- DVD player went non-functional in under 5 months. 2- Expensive combo unit
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Good, but pricey LCD TV with adequate sound quality. Poor DVD player durability so avoid if you need this function.
I bought this unit early August, 2007 because of its built-in DVD player and excellent picture. It worked very, very well for just over 4 months, and just longer than the 90-day labor warranty of course. The DVD piece started to eject any DVD just a few seconds after loading it. Could not play any DVD. On the plus side, the manufacturer (I'd print the name but this site's spell checker refuses to accept it...see brand name above) phone support was available on a Sunday afternoon, I even got through the voice menus and surprisingly short wait to actually speak with a live support rep, and he was completely understandable to me. Unfortunately, all he was able to do is refer me to a local authorized repair facility and let me know that I'd have to pay labor charges. Not impressive for a $750 unit less than 5 months old. Since the picture quality is very good, and the sound is comparable to anything else this size integrated into the TV bezel, this is a decent LCD if that's your end need, though I've seen other units for far less money. If you need is as mine was for a high quality LCD in a size not exceeding 32" for an entertainment cabinet I have, and with an integrated DVD player for convenience, the durability of the DVD player is the weak link and I would recommend other alternatives.
