Magnavox DP170MW8 DVD Player

When my son returned from boyscout camp last year he wanted to buy a dvd player for his room. I took him into walmart, and he looked around a bit to find one that he thought suited him and his needs best. He chose a Magnavox DP170MW8B dvd player. At the time he purchased it it was 29.99 plus tax which was a very reasonable price. I have to admit I thought it would not last long since he is a teenage boy and this was the first thing he was purchasing with his own money. Up until now he has not been known for taking very good care of his things. I was wrong however, I'm guessing it was because he had to work hard to earn this. It has been a year and a half so far and this little magnavox dvd player still works quite well.  He has taken it to the camp this year and used it there all summer while he worked for seven weeks. I know he allowed several other boys to use it while he was working his shift in addition to himself. Although it has a few minor scratches the picture quality and overall condition is still good, which is more than I ever expected. Correction! the only thing wrong with it is he lost the back for the battery compartment on the remote controll which is an operator error not a lack in product quality.
