The Bottom Line:
So far I have no complaints about the product and we would purchase it again.
First my disclaimer: This is the only portable DVD player we have ever owned, so I cannot compare it to others.
We purchased this portable DVD player a year ago in June for an 8 hour road trip. Since then we have taken it on quite a few road trips and so far no problems at all. Our son is almost 2 1/2 and it has been kicked around quite a bit and still works fine. We've been on bumpy roads, dusty roads and have never had a glitch with it. In fact, when we did have a glitch it was due to the DVD being dirty. It seems quite durable and if it pooped out tomorrow I would be happy with the use we've gotten out of it so far, but we're certainly hoping it continues to perform.
WHY WE LIKE IT:
--It's simple to use
--So far it's been very durable
--The size is perfect for travel
--The screen size and clarity make for good viewing
--The sound isn't top notch, but the clarity works for us
WHAT WE DON'T LIKE
--The screen doesn't swivel
--Even thought it's small it's not very light weight, so with everything else we have to carry for our son, it can be cumbersome.
--The owner's manual is horrible. It's not very detailed and doesn't have enough information.
WOULD WE BUY IT AGAIN
--For the price, yes, we probably would. However, when we purchase our next vehicle we will definitely upgrade to one with a built-in DVD player. We would save this portable DVD player for airplane travel or to hotels that don't have a DVD player in the room.
