It makes a nice copy in the two hour DVD recording speed.

No
It recognizes copy proofing, sometimes right in the beginning sometimes halfway through making a personal disc for your own convenience, and that is legal I understand. Marketing or otherwise distributing copies is not legal.
It is such a problem in this area I'm thinking of returning it.
I understand some makes don't recognize copy proofing.
Copy proofed VHS aren't labeled such either. I think such a state should be required to be plain upon the cover.
The instructions leave off with out explaining the steps from stopping the copy and finalizing the DVD so it can be played on other machines.
You have to play the movie by clicking on play after clicking on the image section. Then you have to stop the play and select set up then edit etc as in the finalizing section in another place in the instructions.
