I got this receiver from UBID for a song. I wasn't interested in a >$1000 receiver, but I got one for $500! I am VERY pleased with my purchase. I use it in a 5.1 configuration with some very mediocre speakers. I can only say that this receiver makes even my speakers sound great! It has opened them up like I never thought was possible. I was using a Yamaha pro-logic prior to this and was happy with that. This thing blows that away in terms of power and sound quality. I am happy I took a chance without listening to it. It has lots of clean power and is not bright or harsh. It just plays the music or sound how it was recorded I think.
